Spring Lash Shed - Here's What You Need To Know!•
Posted on April 06 2019
Spring is officially here so you know what that means ... SPRING SHEDDING! ⠀
Just like an animal sheds their winter coat, you and I shed ours as well. Similar to the hair on our heads, the hair on our faces shed too! This is influenced by how our bodies respond to weather changes. ⠀
How do I know if my client is experiencing this? If it’s a regular client of yours with a consistent shedding pattern and retention, you’ll recognize it quickly as they’ll come to you asking why their lashes aren’t lasting as long. Don’t stress – it’s completely normal. Our body is just adapting.
How long is this going to last? It varies from person to person, and of course the climate you live in. For example, someone living in a place with consistent weather might not experience this because the temperature is constant. On the other hand, someone in Calgary may experience this more due to the weather changes. Generally, 1-2 fills is usually adequate time for our bodies to re-adjust.
Can your clients prevent the lash shed? Sadly, no. However, your client can help the cause by utilizing proper aftercare. It is extremely important to keep your eye hygiene optimum at all times but even more so during this phase due to the rise in allergies, oil production and other changes in our uncontrolled environment.
Educate your clients! If your clients know, and they won’t stress. Let them know that experiencing shedding is a normal thing, so they don’t think it’s because of you or your products. Schedule yourself adequate time so you’re not in a rush due to the season.
Fall Shedding is just like this, too!
Hands up if you've noticed spring shedding with your clients! 🙋🏻♀️
