Aftercare, why you need it
•Posted on February 11 2022

Selling aftercare to your clients should be a part of your service. It’s a great way to make extra income and it educates your clients to understand the importance of taking care of their lashes.
So why are so many lash technicians missing this key step in their service? We don’t know, but we are here to help. This doesn’t have to be a big or expensive endeavor, have a small quantity available to your clients at first. Test the market to see what your clients are looking for and then re-purchase based on that.
We have found that the easiest way to sell (which can also be awkward if this doesn't come naturally to you) is to make recommendations. You have a client that struggles to keep their lashes clean, recommend lash wash and provide instructions on how to use the product. A client is more willing to use a product if they are confident when using it.
Educate your clients so they understand the importance of following aftercare. A clean lash line is a happy lash line, it will increase retention, it will keep the lashes looking full and make your job easier when that client comes in for their fill. The more you educate, the more that client will trust you, which could mean so much more for your business (we are talking major referrals).
Every lash technician should have at least one of these available for retail:
- LashWash
- Sleep Masks
- Reusable Wands (your client can just throw them in their purse)
- Silk Pillowcase
